The Teddy Swims Experience: A Lesson in Soul, Surprise & Showmanship

It was March 31st, 2024, when I experienced Teddy Swims for the first time. Honestly? I didn’t know what I was walking into. I hadn’t spent much time with his music—I knew the viral hit “Lose Control”, but that was about it. Still, something told me to show up. Curiosity led me through those doors, and I’m so glad it did.

From the moment he stepped on stage to the second the crowd screamed for an encore, it was clear—this wasn’t just a concert. It was an experience. Teddy Swims didn’t just sing—he poured, testified, and connected. His catalog was deep, emotional, and surprisingly wide-ranging—genre-fluid, soul-drenched, and full of heart. And what struck me just as much as the music was the room itself: a beautifully diverse audience, all locked in, all feeling it together.

By the end, I stood there in amazement—not just at the voice, but at the energy. Raw, real, and magnetic. Teddy Swims may have been new to me, but now? I get it. And I’ll be back.
